Cute cafe restaurant with a focused menu and a vibe that feels defining of the LES. Açaí bowl was decent but I found a lot of the açaí still very frozen together. Service was friendly!
Had one dish here and it was extremely delicious, the Pozole. As someone who has had pozole in Sunset Park and mom&pop places in Brooklyn/Queens, I found it to be as delicious.
It’s an elevated version of what you might find elsewhere, but the flavors were still there and on point. Think: spiced, savory, slightly lime-y broth with delicious hominy (corn) and added sweetness from a sweet potato, along with shredded chicken. Greens on top to make it look pretty as well as giving some extra texture and flavor. A perfectly balanced dish!
Stopped by after a screening at Metrograph on a Monday night and ordered the carrot soup and a gin martini. It was a little crowded but I was seated fairly quickly. I enjoyed the soup and the martini was excellent. The prices seemed reasonable by Manhattan standards. The ambiance was nice, I think it would be a good spot to bring a date. I plan on returning soon.
love the tanginess of the jam on pancakes but the texture is too soft and not my fav. my friend also loved her salmon bowl. The waiter was understandably tired since the restaurant is packed. very small dining table and chair as well. would be a better experience if everything is not tiny.
