When Nick and Josh met in New York a few years ago, what they set out to create here in Manhattan, was a sanctuary in which anyone could come and enjoy some great food, great coffee and some friendly Banter.
So after finding the perfect spot at the end of 2016, the dream of Banter has finally become a reality – right here in the heart of Greenwich Village.

a week agoMy friend and I spent 63 (without a tip) for two Nutella French toasts, one portion of sweet potato fries with spicy mayo, apple cider and orange juice. Sweet potato fries were good but the thing that made them amazing was the spicy mayo! Apple cider was great, French toast was awesome. Strawberries tasted a little weird but maybe it’s because it’s not strawberry season. I would highly recommend to the owner to give out more syrup for the French toast as it would make it less dry (it wasn’t dry dry but it would make it more tasteful). Employees were nice and when we came without reservation they told us it’ll be a 45 minutes wait and we barely waited 15.

3 months agoLovely atmosphere - trendy yet chilled - delicious food and great friendly & welcoming service. Coffee was lovely and the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries was delicious! Short wait of around 15mins for 3 of us on a Saturday.

7 months agoLunch for 5 on a Saturday. Fried chicken sandwiches were excellent. Thin, tender, crispy chicken breast meat and great flavors. Plus sweet potato fries. Bowls were also very good, fresh veggies, nice dressing, and the same tender chicken, grilled instead of fried (poached egg instead of chicken was great, too). We had a 30 minute wait at 12:30 pm.

6 months agoDefinitely my top brunch place in the area. Such a great variety of breakfast and lunch items. There hasn’t been one dish that I didn’t love. My personal favorite is the falafel bowl!

a week agoThis was a nice quiet place but very over priced for a breakfast that was cooked fairly well but not special enough for the price. I had a very good but very small glass of fresh green juice that ran me about $9 and an nicely presented scrambled egg on sourdough with a crispy square hash brown for $12 with two wedges of “roasted” tomato. I might get a cup of coffee here but I wouldn’t spend over $30 on a breakfast.
