THE CITY BAKERY is a long-established bakery that has been loved by people from overseas as well as New Yorkers since it opened in Union Square in New York in 1990. We prepare freshly baked bread and pastries every morning to welcome our customers.
Founder Morley Rubin has a unique background, including winning two Emmy Awards as a TV station producer. Morley, who loves food, was completely captivated by bread when he attended a pastry class in France in 1986. After returning to New York, Morley’s feelings for bread never cool down, and he continues on his way to Baker. He trained in a number of NY bakeries, but none of them decided to open a bakery that he believed in, rather than a bakery that would satisfy him. Citi He is 23 years old when the bakery was born, and he continues to maintain a certain taste as “Hands-on CEO” today.
City celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2010 His bakery decided to open the world’s first store in Japan, opened in Osaka (Grand Front Osaka) in April 2013, and opened in Tokyo Shinagawa in November 2013 and Hiroo in December 2013.

2 weeks agoThis bakery cafe is very conveniently located by the Konan exit in Atre at JR Shinagawa station . We dined in early evening on a Sunday and our pastries (Pretzel croissant and sesame scone ) were delicious. We bought their semolina yogurt bread for take out and it was a slap , craving for more as it was so moist and almost like sourdough. The service is very friendly .Highly recommend this bakery .

3 months agoProbably the smoothest glass of iced coffee I have ever had. A good selection of delicious breads, muffins and other baked goods. I don’t think you could go wrong! The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The music selection also sets a good mood.

5 months agoThe prefect oasis while you come to terms with the business district that is Shinagawa. We had the blended coffee and iced chai as our beverage selection. For food we had the french toast with bacon, a matcha scone, earl grey & chocolate scone and the vegetable and hummus pita pocket and my goodness it did not disappoint two hungry tourists. Also the music was very complementary in BB King-esque as you people watched the many commuters passing through. Highly recommended.

11 months agoA very beautiful restaurant. And the most important thing is, the croissant here is the best I’ve ever ate. The toast is good, too. I’ll be here again definitely.

10 months agoIt’s an option to enjoy a cup of coffee before Shinkansen riding. The bar and restaurant area is available until 11am too. The cafe is much more spacious than Paul inside of the gates. Free wifi available. No power charge spots. Credit cards are accepted.
