SOMM – The Landmark Mandarin Oriental

Great thank you to your team especially Kevin. He is kind and professional and did a detailed introduction and recommendations regarding breakfast and supper. In addition to that, I did mention that we love bathing but I never expected there would be a bath-bomb and flowers, needless to say the surprising champagne. The SOMM’s team, staff bringing us the cake, and the gentleman bringing us ice for cooling wine bottle are professional and with very nice attitude (apology that I didn’t ask for their names but please help me give an appreciation to them) . To conclude, everything is beyond amazing and perfect. We would love to come back for any celebration someday soon. Thanks again for everything!

Absolutely LOVE this hotel. Location, amenities and room was perfect. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. There is nothing I would fault and this will forever be one of the top memorable places that I’ve stayed in.

If we could rate it more than 5 we would. Every moment was memorable, from the small touches in the room on arrival, to the staff greeting us by name throughout our stay. The beautiful rooms and exquisite breakfast both at MO Bar and SOMM. This is our favorite hotel in Asia, and we cannot wait to return and visit when they open again.

What my family and I thought was purely a business trip stay over 3 nights turned out to be a memorable affair for us - so much so that us, including our son, is saddened to hear of the closure and gutting out of the hotel over the coming 1 year +. It was surreal to know that the existing hotel is around 18 years old (if we have our facts accurate), as it is very well maintained from the main areas , to rooms we stayed in and including the facilities we have enjoyed using (mainly the gym, swimming pool). The icing on the cake was the friendliness of the members of this hotel, whom went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a memorable one. It was so memorable that we have had difficulty in saying our goodbyes, especially knowing that our planned return to this hotel sometime closer to the end of this year or early parts of next year that it will not be opened, but especially that we will not be seeing these members of this Mandarin Oriental. To name a few of course Paula, Henry and other members, and also to Cherry whom made sure we were properly welcomed and brilliantly sent off, but also to the first persons we always see - John and Wayne. The rainy weather did not dampen our spirits as it was such pleasantry to see smiley faces the minute we walked into the hotel. The gym and pool members also deserved a mentioned - but unfortunately did not quite catch their names but they were superb in ensuring that we were comfortable and that we enjoyed ourselves. The 3 nights we spent went extremely quick - and it it a lot to do with how enjoyable and comfortable our stay was. We will definitely continue staying with Mandarin Oriental and hope to see the continuity of the exceptional level of service shown at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.

MO does everything almost perfectly here, with tasteful decorations, excellent service and a really nice spa and gym level. However, the location suffers from a lack of views, leading to a cramped feel and while the hotel is home to some first class Michelin starred restaurants, the breakfast options feature uncomfortable seating and noisy environments.
