a week agoI LOVE Palihouse Santa Monica!! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. Our room was stunning, spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. It's my home away from home. My family love being so close to 3rd St Promenade for a stroll and such a fun bike ride to Venice Beach and The Ivy Restaurant. This hotel is stunning. We return year after year and look forward to the luxury, it's our favourite boutique stay in LA. I can't wait to stay there again! Thank you Palihouse!!!

3 months agoWe recently stayed at Palihouse Santa Monica, and it was a fabulous experience. We were greeted by the friendly valet at the curb who helped us carry our many bags into the hotel. There's a beautiful garden entrance and as you go into the lobby you immediately feel like you've been transported to an inn in Europe. The front desk staff were just as friendly and very helpful. They welcomed us and our dog, Ruby. We got a lovely, spacious, airy room with windows that open! It had a kitchen where we could store our food (we were on a road trip) and heat up takeout food. The bathroom was large and the shower was fantastic with a rainfall shower head. Our morning walks over to the Promenade and down to the beach were relaxing and Ruby loved them too. We loved Palihouse so much, that we changed our plans to stay an extra night. I highly recommend this delightful hotel with personalized service and helpful staff who cater to and love dogs!

2 weeks agoIf you appreciate a hotel with tons of character and personalized touches, this is the place for you. If you want to get a slightly more luxe stay, however, and sacrifice some personality, you may be better off staying at some of the larger hotels (or more well known chains) in the area. I loved the Palihouse because our room was huge and beautifully decorated, the hotel itself is gorgeous and the attention to detail was great — including lemonade and cookies in the afternoon, dyptique soaps, and complimentary bikes that we used every day. However, there were some basic things I would’ve appreciated like a more comfortable bed, a shower that didn’t leak, and a pool at the property. Overall, I would highly recommend Palihouse but warn guests about some of the downsides of its “old world charm”.

3 months agoIt might be helpful to have a sign indicating the location of the front desk and perhaps offer a brief guided tour of the property for first-time visitors. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable. Our one-bedroom residence was spacious, featuring a galley kitchen equipped with some pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. The valet service was excellent and personable. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Although it was a bit of a distance from the beach, the pleasant weather made for an easy walk. The hotel is situated at the end of the 3rd Street Promenade; when you leave, turn left, walk a block or so, and you’ll find various stores, restaurants, and weekend activities. The hotel also has a small gym with a Peloton bike, a few treadmills, and adjustable weights. Everything about this hotel felt like something out of a charming movie.

2 months agoWe had an excellent stay in a massive room on the 3rd floor. Absolutely beautiful place, quiet and with friendly staff. So much space and not a lot of folks around, very relaxing. Love the decor and style.
