Clinton St Baking Company is a classic American restaurant with bakery located on NYC’s Lower East Side. Since 2001, we’ve maintained our mom & pop roots by using the highest quality ingredients from local purveyors we know and trust who stand behind the integrity of their products like sustainable coffee, all natural milk, cage free poultry & eggs, premium ice cream, and heritage farm-raised pork. Our eclectic menu takes inspiration from the American South, coastal New England, Jewish New York, and the Spanish cooks who bring to our kitchen their rich culinary traditions from Mexico and the Southwest.
Nearly everything we serve, from raspberry jam and buttermilk biscuits, to corn tortillas and habanero hot sauce, is made on premises, using classic and traditional techniques. Our breakfast and brunch earn the most acclaim, but dinner is a great time to visit, when lights are low, crowds are calm and the neighborhood regulars claim their well-earned place. And yes—pancakes are served all day and all night!

3 weeks agoThe food is solid but certainly not worth waiting in line for (I may be biased because I hate waiting in lines ... for anything). We had a reservation for 9am on a Friday and we got in pretty smoothly -- there was a long line when we got there but surprisingly most of it had cleared up by ~10:30 so I would recommend coming in around that time on a weekday if you don't have a reservation. Even though the food isn't worth waiting in line, this is still a superior breakfast restaurant. I ordered the classic blueberry pancakes which were great on their own -- I didn't end up using their signature maple butter as it was too sweet for me. My boyfriend ordered the country breakfast (he subbed ham for bacon) and loved it too. The vibe in this place is also great and honestly is most of the appeal of coming here -- it's a quaint little place and there's something really soothing about it??? Overall a great way to get your day started.

a month agoBest Pancakes in the World! Visited Clinton Street Baking Company on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and it was an amazing experience! We had the Blueberry Pancakes, Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and Chicken Apple Sausage. The pancakes were the best I’ve ever had—fluffy, moist, with a fantastic blueberry compote. The warm maple butter was just right, sweet but not overly indulgent. The Eggs Benedict was also superb, with perfectly poached eggs and delicious smoked salmon. I ordered a Mimosa and my boyfriend had orange juice, both were great. The Mimosa was made with prosecco and had a generous amount, and the orange juice was fresh and filled to the top. We arrived around 10:20 am and were told it would be a 1 hour and 15 minute wait, but we were seated in just 58 minutes. By the time we left at noon, the wait times had increased significantly, so I’d recommend arriving early or making a reservation if possible. The service was excellent—fast, efficient, and friendly. The only small drawback was the single bathroom, but it didn’t detract from the overall fantastic experience. Clinton Street Baking Company lives up to the hype and is definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend!

a month agoThe pancakes are definitely some of the best I have tried. They melted in the mouth. We got the banana walnut pancakes & waffles from the speciality menu. They were really good! The whipped cream on the waffle was specially made & so is their maple butter! We had to wait 2.5 hours to be seated on a saturday, we had arrived at 11.30am. I saw people just walk in and get a seat by 2pm. It was great for a try! But I wouldn't wait that long again! There is a waterfront urban development project ongoing on the East side which is 12 min walk if you want to stroll by & wait.

a week agoAbsolutely a must try in NYC. The blueberry pancakes are hyped up for a reason, and the lox and egg scramble is delicious. The coffee is bottomless and refilled often. The service is extremely nice and efficient. Definitely make a reservation in advance, they tend to book up fairly quickly and there are a lot of people who try to just do walk ins.

a month agoSuper delicious brunch! We went around 10:30 and were told it’d be a 30 minute wait, but only ended up waiting about 15 minutes. Our server (not sure his name) was incredibly sweet and checked on us a lot. All the food was incredible. The eggs were the best I’ve ever had!!
