Our love for our adopted hometown is reflected in everything at Jack’s Wife Freda, from our lively atmosphere, all-day dining hours, effortless ambience and joyful sense of community.
You can still find us here in SoHo, or visit one of our locations on Carmine Street in the West Village, West 16th Street in Chelsea, and Wythe Ave in Brooklyn. A visit still invokes the age-old delight of people-watching in New York, and turns a simple meal into a special event. Guests come from all walks of life and all over the world, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder in our cozy banquettes, enjoying breakfast, lunch, brunch, cocktails and dinner. 3 weeks agoFirst time being here! We came to celebrate my birthday at brunch time & the experience was amazing! Love the decor & the atmosphere. The food was beyond delicious! We order the Rosewater Waffle & Chicken Prego Sandwich, for drink Mint Lemonade; everything tastes fresh with great quality ingredients. There is indoor & outdoor seating.All staff were super nice & friendly! Excellent service! Totally recommend it! This became one of my favorite restaurants in the city, I can’t wait to come back!

I highly recommend trying their rosewater waffles, which are simply divine, as well as the grilled halloumi and the Mediterranean breakfast—each dish is a testament to their commitment to quality and creativity. a month agoFood wasn’t bad but I don’t think I’d come back. The best dish I’ve had is the duck bacon sandwich, which has this amazing tomato jam on it. The fries are really good, hot and fresh and crispy, hitting all the marks. The latte was also good, but nothing exceptional. The waffle was overhyped in my opinion. The rosewater flavor is all in the syrup, and was barely there too. The waffle was bland, though I did like the yogurt instead of cream, but wasn’t very unique beyond that. Cafe is very loud and quite packed, but nice decor, with excellent, attentive service. The food portions are the main problem, with everything being pretty small for the price you’re paying. The poached eggs dish was especially tiny and not worth $19 at all. Really not worth going out of your way to come here.

a week agoWe went for Brunch on Sunday, I had the special which was an asparagus omelette and it was so delicious. I usually never eat a whole omelette but I did this time! The potatoes were so yummy and I loved that it came with small salad. 🥗 I can’t wait to go back.

2 months agoThe location is very nice, the employees are very attentive. It is very enjoyable to look around when you sit down. Other than that, the food is good (I tried the salad and schnitzel before). I especially recommend the schnitzel, the portions are big. Apart from brunch and dinner, I think you can come here to have a cocktail after shopping. 9/10
